Detroit, MI – MVP Executive Search & Development is pleased to announce Melissa Peterson as the new Vice President of Clinical Operations for Wayne State University Physician Group.
Wayne State University Physician Group (WSUPG) is a nonprofit multi-specialty faculty practice with more than 400 primary care and specialty physicians in a wide array of medical and surgical specialties. WSUPG physicians diagnose and treat some of the most complex medical cases in the state. The intrinsic link between high quality patient care, medical research, and training the next generation of physicians allows WSUPG to advance medicine in the metropolitan Detroit community and beyond.
Since 2001, Melissa has served as Director of Operations and Ambulatory Care Administrator at University of Michigan Health System where she oversaw eight multi-specialty ambulatory care centers with multiple clinics. She provided strategic leadership and executed strategies to improve patient care, deliver revenue gains, and promote organizational growth. At WSUPG, Melissa will be a core member of the newly-configured senior leadership team. Reporting to the President, she will provide thought leadership and oversight of WSUPG’ s ambulatory practices and access functions. This includes, developing and implementing operational standards and guidelines to ensure a patient-centric culture, efficient operations to promote outstanding service, superior outcomes, consistent patient safety and sound financial performance. She will collaborate on a wide range of ambulatory initiatives related to quality and safety, the development of new ambulatory practices and facilities, governmental and third party incentive programs and technology tools and innovations to support the practices. Melissa will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer and interact with a broad group of physician and administrative leaders and staff.
